FILMBASE & “Garden of Consciousness”: Merging Transparent Displays & Art

Recently, the exhibition “Garden of Consciousness: The Virtual Symbiosis of Digital Doppelganger and Social Butterfly” was officially opened at CIC Innovation and Creativity Center of CC Creative District in Shenzhen Longcheng, bringing the audience an immersive visual experience integrating science and technology with art. This exhibition is jointly initiated by Longcheng CC Creative District and Longgang enterprise  Filmbase. Artists Xiangyun Liu and Jinyu He use Filmbase transparent light display technology to create a digital art space that intertwines the real and the virtual, making light and shadow become the language of art.

At the exhibition site, the new transparent display material is no longer just a carrier for information display, but a part of art creation. The works present richly layered dynamic images on the transparent light film, and the audience walks through them as if they were in an aesthetic field where the virtual and the real are intertwined. This not only provides a new medium for artistic creation, but also demonstrates the great potential of transparent display technology in the art space.

The exhibition gathers more than twenty cross-media artworks, empowering visual art with digital technology and exploring how individuals reconfigure their identities and interact with each other in a digital society. Among them, artist Xiangyun Liu 's sculpture “Instantaneous Rhythm” employs the colorful PDLC film technology of Filmbase, which enables the light film flowers to sense the breath of the audience, displaying different transparencies and colors as the breath changes, and creating a visual experience of the interplay of reality and illusion. Another eye-catching work is  Jinyu He's “Pieces of Auspicious Light”, which projects solicited online dreams onto the light screen through the ultra-thin transparent display film technology of Filmbase, displaying fragments of happiness as the light film material flutters.
